Polythene Jelly filled cable (PIJF) is an underground cable that has polythene as insulation on conductors. The inter-spaces between the conductors contain petroleum jelly to prevent the ingress of moisture and water inside the core during wear and tear. Polythene Sheathed Jelly Filled Circular Cable with Ploy-Al moisture barrier is used for providing telephone connections to the users.
